Those we love don't go away
they walk beside us every day
unseen unheard
but always near
still loved still missed
and very dear

Our thoughts are ever with you
though you have passed away
and those who loved you dearly
are thinking of you today

Jimmy Piper 1953 – 2008

Much loved son, foster brother, foster uncle, step brother & ex husband. Jimmy grew up in  Fiddleford near Broad Oak and Sturminster Newton and was an only child, he moved to Blandford Forum when he was a young man and lived in Blandford for the rest of his life. Jim was a good looking man with a kindly face who was very intelligent but was very down to earth as well. Jimmy was liked by many and had lots of good friends. He liked a good laugh and everyone who knew Jim Piper would probably agree that like most of us, he enjoyed a drink or two especially cider, though in the last few years of his life he drastically cut down on his drinking.

Jimmy who was brainy enough to get into Blandford Grammar school in 1964 would travel by train from Shillingstone to Blandford every school day. He was quite the writer and poet and years later even had his poem published in a book. He trained and worked as an accountant for a while, though this kind of work couldn't have really suited him because he took up more manual types of jobs.  He married once and even though the marriage didn't last he always stayed friends with his ex wife. Jimmy was a loving and caring son to his parents and he was always there for his foster nephews giving them the kind of manly advice that teenage lads need, his foster nephews miss him lots and Jimmy's step family also adored him.

Jimmy's foster sister will never forget that he stopped her from experimenting with hard drugs and because of him, she never went down this path in life. Since Jimmy died, life has never been quite the same again for his family and close mates, but Jim wouldn't have wanted his nearest and dearest to have been sad for too long, so I raise an imaginary pint of cider to toast always missing Jimmy Piper with the warmest and deepest happy affection. xxx

Michael “Skin” Pearce / Stephen Michael Hulme Osmond
 1968 – 2009

Skin when he was a cute and chubby little baby

Skin when he was an equally cute & chubby little school kid !
Skin when he was a young man
although he didn't keep his hair he always kept his good looks
Michael Pearce, born in Wellington, Shropshire on 21st February 1968, was a rogue and a gentleman. Everyone who met and knew Michael who was adopted and was then named Stephen Michael Hulme Osmond. Everyone who knew "Skin" as he was nick named, couldn't help liking him, he was cool in every way. He is very much missed by his 2 sons and their mother, who since he passed away, haven't gone a day without thinking about him in some way. Skin lived in many different places in the world, including Andover, Hong Kong and Papua New Guineau, Blandford Forum and Semley near Shaftesbury. Skin had a great sense of humor and his favorite film was " Monty Python The Life Of Brian" and he liked all different styles of music, including Bob Marley, The Sex Pistols, The Orb and Amy Winehouse. In his teenage years he was into the mods and scooters thing and his keenness for all things mopeds, bikes and scooters never left him.

Skin always liked motorbikes, scooter & mopeds
From the get go Skin was always a very talented artist and sculptor, well his own natural mother Leanora being an artist herself and his natural father an architect, he was lucky enough to inherit their great genes ! He met the mother of his 2 sons in 1992 and he lived with her and his 2 boys until 1998. Skin always saw his sons regularly even after his relationship with their mother ended and he and she always remained on good terms with each other. Skin was certainly not idle and always had a job, some of his employment included working for the forestry and driving jobs and building work as well. Skin liked the traveler life style and in the last ten years of his life lived on a coach which he did up and then later on caravans.

The brilliant thing about Skin was he knew how to party and have a wild time but at the same time he always kept it together. Skins artistic skills extended to cookery and he could've easily been a great chef, he always ate well. Skins art was that good that he won a commendation at the Bridport art show exhibition in the 1990's, he also lent his talent to amateur dramatics by painting back drops for plays. In the last few years of Skins life he took in a dog called Sharon and from then on, wherever Skin was, his dog was never far behind...Skin had a biker type funeral and hundreds of people turned up. Skin's 2 sons and their mum will never forget him and will always love him forever and ever and are glad to have had him in their lives and they were very touched to hear that last summer the scooter club that Skin belonged to in his teenage years, made some t-shirts that had emblazoned on the fronts “Its a Skin thing”.
