These 2 lovely local women,
neither of them one to miss a good photo opportunity,
gave The Blandford Buzz some cheery poses to blog about ! |
Hello as I begin to write this post there is only 1 day, 11 hours, 7 minutes and 28 seconds left until the BIG day it's self, you may be asking yourself if I'm a mathematician, genius and prodigy, well dear reader I cannot claim to be any of these - it's just that I've used a
Christmas Countdown widget for
Blogger and so thus in this case it's actually the widget maker/programmer/code maker who is the very very super clever person - oh and thank you widget maker/programmer/code maker for the said widget !
I was in Blandford town centre a few days ago on Tuesday the 20th of December, as I wanted to blog about
Tesco, Asda & Blandford Town Centre (specifically being the planning meeting in relation to the former of the 2 just mentioned supermarket giants proposal to expand their store at Stour Park and the latter to build a store and other amenities at Shaftesbury Lane). Anyway I had an idea of non epic, non genius proportions to take a photograph or two of some shopping bags pertaining to each said supermarket giant and to somehow get Blandford town centre in the background and if you check out the link a few lines above, you will see my er..achievement - no let me instead say the manifestation of my idea, or not to put a too finer word on it and in short - result !!!
OK so I snapped away and actually I didn't get too many odd or bemused looks from passers by - though one man came up to me and asked me what I was doing and to which I replied (proudly) "I'm a blogger" (I think the word blogger is great, it has a hint of immaturity about it and it also sounds light hearted and informal) "what on earth is a blogger" the man continued to ask me and so I told him in a few short sentences and the man said "oh" in an utterly unmoved and unimpressed manner and walked off !
As I continued to take more photographs 2 ladies in the street asked me what I was doing and so I told them and they seemed to be really quite impressed with
blogging and told me that they thought that it must be a rather fun thing to do and of course I told them that it is - fun - because it is, bloggings fun fun fun !!!
 |
At one point these smiling ladies asked me if I was a local journalist -
I must confess despite the now extinct News of The World etc fiasco
I felt quite flattered to be asked such a question
though as you can see by these photos
these 2 weren't in anyway disappointed
when I told them I'm a blogger
in fact they were intrigued |
So dear reader these 2 said ladies were so sweet, happy and amiable and they even proposed that I should perhaps take a few pics of them and post them on
The Blandford Buzz blog and so I willingly obliged and hence I have now met their request...that's why I like Blandford so much, it's such a friendly little town...'til I write and you read again...happy Eve Of
Christmas Eve...x P.S. as I close this post there is only 1 day, 9 hours, 51 minutes and 49 seconds left until the mother of all yuletide days (and if you're a really clever type of person, you can give a mathematician, genius and prodigy a run for their money, by working out in less than 20 seconds, how long it took me to post this article from start to finish !).

How could The Blandford Buzz or a journalist miss the opportunity
to take and publish a photo as great as this !
Thanks ladies x
