A Puppy/Dog Is For Life - Not Just For Christmas

So it's that time of year again when you may start wondering what to buy your loved one/s for a Xmas present and if you haven't got any pets it may seem like a good idea to introduce a puppy or dog to your household particularly if you share your living space with little people or young people - those who are at the "in between age" - pre 5 and teenagers however (a) person/s belonging to either of these age groups may not stay interested in a family pet for very long...

However people of all age's including you and I can be easily distracted by the comings & goings of life and so even if buying a dog for a Xmas present for your partner or child/ren or even youself may seem like a good thing to do, it is very important that you ask yourself if you or they will be able to cope with looking after a puppy/dog - at the best of times a puppy/dog can be extremely demanding in many different ways - can you or they handle cleaning up doggy dribble ? and will you or they be able to commit to walking your dog several times a day - every day, rain or shine ? and are you or they comfortable at the prospect of forever carrying a number of plastic bags to clear up after a doggy do do ? etc...

So when entertaining the notion of becoming a dog owner, ask yourself not only if you /& your family members will be (a) loving dog owner/s 100% of the time but also if you'll (all) financially cope with the costs of permanently looking after a puppy/dog, which will include money for food, insurance & or vet fees...so think carefully before buying a puppy/dog for Xmas. If you'd like to make a difference to the life of a dog but you & your family couldn't handle looking after one, you can donate to a local Pet Rescue - or if you're sure being a dog owner's the life for you & your loved ones, then buying a rescue puppy/dog can be a great option...Til I write & You read again...x
