Dorset Farmers Market... In Blandford - Boasty's

Hello reader, I hope that you are well on this fine but slightly nippy winter December day. I was in Blandford town centre this morning and I noticed, well I could hardly miss it, The Farmers Market, so never one to miss a photo opportunity for The Blandford Buzz, I approached The Farmers Market Manager and told him what The Blandford Buzz is all about and asked him if I could perhaps take some photos of the stall holders & their stalls and write a series of blog articles based on The Dorset Farmers Market and luckily the answer to my question was met with a jovial yes ! So I dashed back home and quickly whipped up some consent/disclaimer forms and then headed back to Blandford town centre to snap away - so here to follow will be a series of blog articles featuring each stall holder and their produce.

Boasty's homemade jams, jelly's & chutneys make great Xmas presents

Boasty's homemade jams, preserves and jelly's etc look like mini works of art in jars and among some of the more unusual and possibly unique recipes which caught my eye is the peppercorn jelly as pictured in the above photograph. What I really like about Boasty's homemade food items, is that the ingredients used to make these food products is home sown by Angie, grown by Angie, chopped & cooked by Angie, put in jars by Angie and sold by Angie and a while ago when Angie was in Blandford selling her homemade food items, I bought some of her Gooseberry jam and it was a taste delight and not too sweet but not bitter or sharp either.

Wow to cultivate your own produce and then actually spend time going through the previously said above processes in order to achieve the desired results  - yummy scrummy local homemade food products, is something that I'm sure many of wish we had the time and energy to do, though few of us probably actually ever get round to achieving.  Boasty's homemade jams, jelly's & chutneys etc are also contained in attractive jars and the tags tied around the jar lids lend a vintage type of quality to Boasty's products, which certainly enhance their Christmas time gift appeal !

The next Dorset Farmers Market is tomorrow, Sat 10th Dec in Bridport 9.00hrs - 13.00hrs.

The Dorset Farmers Market will return to Blandford Market Place in time for Christmas
on Wednesday 14th December between 16.00hrs - 19.00hrs.

Disclaimer: The Blandford Buzz hasn't received any payment to feature The Dorset Farmers Market or Boasty's on this blog post.
