Festival Group "Greatly Saddened" By The Fireworks Malfunction

The Blandford Yuletide Festival Group who organised the Blandford Yuletide Festival 2011 have stated in a report that they were 'greatly saddened" by the firework display that ended in disaster and not only resulting in local embarrassment but also national humiliation as well, due to the fact that the incident was covered by online national tabloids. The BYFG have fully cooperated with the investigating authorities, which are North Dorset District Council, Dorset Police and Dorset County Council Trading Standards - who have particularly noted the ambiguous instuctions on the firework packets, which led to the fireworks being launched wrongly. A spokesman for North Dorset District Council told The Blandford Buzz that at next years Blandford Yuletide Festival (2012) NDDC will offer advice to the Blandford Yuletide festival orgainisers in regards to any firework display.  Several people were injured during the firework fiasco flop, one woman had her hair singed off by a stray firework and Bernadette Morley Smith whose 2 children and herself were also hit by the fireworks were very shaken by the incident and she has sought an apology from Blandford Forum Town Council however as of yet The Blandford Buzz understands that an apology has not yet been given by the town council who in their own opinions don't believe they are responsible for the stray fireworks incident and therefore do not need to give an apology.
