Last week when I met my
mentor (who gives me advice to help make this blog better) he and I walked along East Street, so that he could point out to me the clear evidence that
Blandford Forum has a multi-cultural population and during our short trip down East Street I became more aware of this, because the fast food take aways and restaurants and other eateries on East Street indeed show a Chinese, Turkish and Italian presence in this town, my mentor also told me that there are also Polish people living here and he mentioned that Polish newspapers are sold in Blandford and there are also Russian people who now call Blandford Forum their home.
Multiculturalism is a positive progression for any place because it helps us all understand one another, which in turn helps break down pre-judgements and all types of "isms". So when I heard that today is the beginning of the Chinese new year, I just had to dedicate this post to the Chinese community in Blandford Forum, lets hope that the year of the dragon 2012 is better than the year of the rabbit 2011...
