The idea of such surgeries is to put the public at ease in an informal environment so a person feels comfortable voicing a local concern that has an impact on themself and other members of the community. For instance a Police Officer told TBB at PACT, that a woman went along to a Costa Cops In Shops Surgery to report a light under a bridge in Blandford was not working and as a consequence, walking under the bridge made her feel uncomfortable. The Blandford Police swiftly reported the matter to the Council and within a few hours a new light was installed under the bridge.
Blandford Police suggested TBB look on the Dorset Police website to find out when and where the next surgeries will take place, unfortunately TBB hasn't managed to locate this information, (the DP site isn't the easiest to navigate) though when TBB finds out, it will post the information on this blog.
