Rosie's Story - Part 2

Rosie is now beginning to manage her life on the poverty line as best she can, though just before Christmas, financially things for Rosie became so dire, that she had completely run out of food and had to phone up a  charity called You Life Changers which is based in Dorchester, who then contacted the nearest food bank to Blandford, being either Dorchester Salvation Army or the Gillingham Food Bank.

The Blandford Buzz understands that Blandford Forum does not have a food bank though of course this website will be more than pleased to retract this statement and apologise if Blandford Forum does have a food bank. Luckily a You Life Changers support helper traveled from Dorchester to Blandford and delivered a box of food to Rosie.

Blandford Hospital
Due to the high stress that often understandably results when a person is faced with severe financial hardship,  Rosie has been receiving help from the Milldown Unit at Blandford Hospital because she is now suffering from clinical depression.

Rosie's job seekers allowance money, received fortnightly, only comfortably lasts her one week, so unfortunately by week two she usually has no or very little money to buy food with. One such week last December (2011) Rosie went to the Milldown Unit in despair because she couldn't cope and she knew that due to her very depressed state of mind, she needed to talk to someone urgently.

After Rosie told a nurse at the Blandford Hospital Milldown Unit that she had run out of food and she didn't know what to do because she couldn't seem to find any help local help quickly, the nurse actually went and bought Rosie some food.

WOW perhaps David Cameron will be delighted with this story because although the state is failing to provide an adequate safety net never mind as people totally get the big society and other under payed nurses may follow in the footsteps of the Blandford hospital nurse and buy food for hungry people like Rosie...

Rosie is very grateful and says a  big warm thank you to the Blandford hospital nurse who went and bought me food

The Blandford Buzz would like to have published the christian name of the said nurse on this article, however in a world gone mad, TBB has decided not to disclose this information, just in case it resulted in the nurse being disciplined or sacked.

In Part 3 - Update on Rosie and Rosie would like a job advert.
