Like many, I was keeping my fingers crossed that the winner of the UKs largest unclaimed lottery prize, would come forward and claim the 64 million pound jackpot. The person who bought the ticket in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, failed to make contact with Camelot by 23:00hrs a couple of days ago on Wednesday 5th December (the prescribed deadline) and claim the gargantuan, colossal, life changing sum of beyond a dreamers wildest dreams, prize money - oh well I suppose many good causes will benefit, so the story doesn't have a sad ending after all...
I started pondering some of the reason/s why the jackpot mega prize might have remained unclaimed, here are ten -
1) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder is now a member of the world above
2) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder has some sort of degenerative disorder and doesn't know what's going on
3) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder is being detained under the mental health act and is hence drugged up to zombie like living dead proportions
4) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder is being detained at one of Her Majesties Prisons
5) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder unknowingly shredded the ticket in a moment of I must get rid of all this paperwork
6) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder joined a religious cult which denounces all money and worldly possessions
7) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder has/had done something blackmailable
8) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder feared their own kidnap or that of their nearest and dearest
9) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder decided that 64 million quid is just too much money and could send them over the edge - drink, drugs, adopting a Charlie Sheen-esque lifestyle, buying and driving at reckless speed the FASTEST CAR IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD...
10) The lucky/unlucky ticket holder simply couldn't find the ticket in any of the usual or more unusual places
