Once a year in May the Clean Up Blandford team undertake a major clean up of the Stour Meadow and the River Stour and now this will extend to the whole town.
This local organisation also receives help from the local Scouts, Girl Guides, local Rotary Club/s, St Johns Ambulance and Canoeists from the local rowing club set sail/paddle on the River Stour and go from the Blandford Blue Bridge down to the bypass and on their journey they take bikes, trolleys and general rubbish out of the river. The Clean Up Blandford members also clean up after town events like the carnival
The organisation ran a competition for children to enter their poster art for a Clean Up Blandford campaign, in 2005 an 8 year old won the prize and the cute artwork can be seen above.
